"Love is compossed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies."
- Aristotle
Relationships Relationships are often where patterns become most visible. We all recognise this from experience: in our interactions with other people, some give us wings, while others feel blocking or restrictive. Certain connections energise us and help us grow; others create tension, misunderstanding or stagnation.
Astrology offers two complementary ways to understand relationship dynamics: Synastry and The Composite Chart.
Synastry — how you affect each other.
Synastry compares two birth charts and shows how two people interact. It reveals where harmony flows naturally, where attraction is strong, and where friction or misunderstanding may arise. In synastry, we explore questions such as: Why does this person feel so familiar or so challenging? Where do we support each other naturally? Where do misunderstandings or power struggles come from? Why do certain patterns keep repeating between us? Synastry does not label a relationship as “good” or “bad.” Instead, it helps you understand how you trigger, support or block one another, so you can relate with greater awareness and make more conscious choices.
The Composite Chart — the relationship as an entity Usually, we think about relationships in terms of our own feelings or those of the other person. Yet every relationship becomes something more than two individuals together. Each relationship develops its own atmosphere, rhythm and behaviour patterns. You may notice that you do not act in exactly the same way when you are with your partner as when you are alone. Certain reactions and dynamics only appear within that relationship — often without conscious choice. In astrology, the composite chart describes the relationship itself as a separate entity. It does not describe you, and it does not describe the other person. It shows how the relationship functions as a whole. The composite chart helps clarify: the nature and purpose of the relationship recurring dynamics and themes where growth is possible where tension or stagnation may arise what the relationship needs to stay alive and balanced This insight gives you a deeper understanding of what you are creating together, and how to relate to one another with greater clarity and responsibility.
